After 16 seasons, the Longhorns are losing a coaching icon.
Although fans have been calling for his termination over the last couple seasons, and even though there was some gray area around his resignation on whether or not he was forced out (He says he was his decision), Monday's Alamo Bowl marked the end of an era for the Longhorns.
And the milestone didn't go unnoticed by the Longhorn loyals.
Earlier, billboards with Brown's photo and the words "Class Act" popped up around Austin.
Monday, Bevo ported a halter with "Mack" across it for the game. The halter usually spells about Bevo.

The Texas Longhorns marching band also gave Mack Brown one final moment of recognition during halftime.
The simply spelled "Mack Brown" at the end of their halftime performance.

Though, prior to spelling out Mack's name, they played music from Les Miserables. We'll chalk that up to coincidence.
Regardless of the the history that lead to Brown stepping down, it's a sad bittersweet day for the Longhorns.
