The Major League Baseball trade deadline came and went Thursday afternoon with a flurry of action.

The Tigers and A's made significant moves to bolster their already strong teams.

Judging by Twitter, Oakland players were very happy about the developments.

The A's struck first early in the morning by acquiring pitcher Jon Lester and outfielder Jonny Gomes from Boston.

Oakland pitcher Sonny Gray shared his reaction to the blockbuster.

A's outfielder Josh Reddick was also pumped up by the new additions.

Later in the afternoon, the Tigers landed left-hander David Price from the Rays.

That prompted this phenomenal tweet from A's closer Sean Doolittle, who sensed a little competition.
