Upon further review, Red Wings forward Todd Bertuzzi doesn't have mononucleosis after all.
The club announced Saturday that Bertuzzi could miss the first month of the season because of the illness. However, he was retested and the results for mono came back negative.
Bertuzzi, 37, missed the Wings' opener Saturday in St. Louis and won't play Monday night at Columbus.
He could return for one of the team's home games this week — Tuesday against Dallas or, more likely, Friday against Minnesota.
Bertuzzi also has been hampered by a groin injury.
