Adrian Beltre, who had a three homer game as well as hit for the cycle last week, was named American League player of the week.

Beltre hit .433 for the week with five home runs and nine RBIs. He led the major leagues in slugging, OPS, total bases, extra-base hits, home runs and hits.

Beltre did all that despite going hitless Saturday and Sunday against Minnesota. He made up for that by hitting three homers Wednesday against Baltimore, adding another home run Thursday against Minnesota and then hitting for the cycle Friday night.

According to Elias, Beltre and Joe DiMaggio are the only players to have a three-homer game and hit for the cycle in the same week. DiMaggio did it in 1948.

This is the third time Beltre has won a weekly award. He's the second Rangers' player to nab the honor this year, joining Josh Hamilton (May 7-13).
