Baylor safety Dixon arrested for alleged assault

Baylor safety Ahmad Dixon was arrested and charged with
misdemeanor assault on Thursday.
Dixon was released on Thursday afternoon after posting
$1,500 bond.
The arrest stemmed from a Sept. 16 incident at an apartment
in Waco, Texas.
Dixon allegedly assaulted a 21-year-old man last week who he
believed had broken into his home several months ago.
Dixon reportedly punched the victim several times in the
face when the man laughingly denied the allegation.
Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton told KWTX that the victim
was not hospitalized, but suffered facial injuries. He reportedly waited until
the next day to contact police because of feared retribution.
Dixon "admitted to this assault," according to the
arrest affidavit.
Baylor's associate athletic director for communications issued
a short statement on Friday.
