DHAKA, Bangladesh (AP) Bangladesh took a handy 244-run lead against England by reaching 268-7 at lunch on the third day of the second test on Sunday.

The hosts capitalized on England's wayward fielding on the third morning after resuming its innings on 152-3, to build a challenging lead on an increasingly big-turning, deteriorating wicket.

Opener Imrul Kayes and Shakib Al Hasan combined for a useful 40 runs partnership to take the lead to almost 200 in the morning session.

Kayes survived two dropped catches to make 78, while Shakib Al Hasan also benefited from a Ben Duckett drop at deep midwicket on his way to 41.

Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim also got a life on 6 but failed to make it count, edging to Alastair Cook off Ben Stokes to be out on 9.

Legspinner Adil Rashid, offspinner Zafar Ansari and fast bowler Ben Stokes claimed two wickets apiece as the tourists toiled hard to limit what appears a difficult run chase ahead.

The highest successful chase in the fourth innings at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium is 209-1 by England against the same opponent in 2010.
