Badgers upset No. 5 Denver on road

The Wisconsin hockey squad posted an eye-opening win Saturday night, defeating fifth-ranked Denver, 3-1, on the road.
The Badgers, who jumped out to a swift, 2-0 lead at Magness Arena, got goals from Nic Kerdiles, Derek Lee and John Ramage. Wisconsin also got 35 total saves from netminder Landon Peterson.
With the win, the Badgers improved to 2-7-3 overall and 2-5-3 in WCHA play.
Denver, which was paced Saturday by goalie Sam Brittain's 22 saves, saw its records dip to 9-4-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference action.
