Badgers predictions: Game 5 at Northwestern

Badgers predictions: Game 5 at Northwestern

It has been a while, but do we actually have a game this weekend in which people around the web are picking against Wisconsin?

Well, yeah, but not really.

Pretty much everyone I could find is taking Wisconsin over Northwestern -- but not all. Still, even with the Badgers listed as a favorite, Evanston, Ill., hasn't exactly been a safe haven for the team over the last decade or so.

OK, with all that being said, here are this week's picks:

Our own Jesse Temple via his Know the Foe series: Wisconsin 24, Northwestern 21

The Associated Press' Ralph D. Russo: Wisconsin 28, Bowling Green 21

All three Big Ten Network analysts are picking Wisconsin to win. The scores: Tom Dienhart 28-17; Sean Merriman 35-20; Brent Yarina 38-17.

Whatifsports.com simulation: Wisconsin is given a 75.7% chance of winning with an average score of 24.3-15.9.

Collegefootballnews.com: Wisconsin 23, Northwestern 13. "Northwestern will fight and battle and claw, but the offense isn't going to work. Wisconsin will look like it's running into a wall at times, and it'll bog down, but it'll finally break free in the third quarter, and the D will shine in what should be sloppy conditions."

All four Athlon Sports analysts are picking Wisconsin to win. The scores: David Fox, 41-21; Braden Gall, 30-27; Steven Lassan,30-20; Mitch Light, 31-14.

Five out of six CBSSports.com analysts are picking Wisconsin to win with Jon Solomon taking Northwestern. Solomon is also the only one of the six to take Northwestern getting 9 1/2 points.

All five ESPN.com Big Ten contributors picked Wisconsin to win. A score of 28-17 is listed (as usual, not sure if that was group agreed upon). "Wisconsin hasn't won in Evanston, Illinois, since 1999, and the Wildcats are riding a sudden urge of confidence after knocking off Penn State on the road last week. Tanner McEvoy will have to be sharp, but the combination of the Badgers' defense and Melvin Gordon will rule the day."

No surprise that once again all seven analysts at USAToday.com pick Wisconsin to win.

The Oklahoman's Barry Tramel: Wisconsin 28, Northwestern 24.

Using an 8-point spread, all five analysts at LindySports are picking Wisconsin to win.
