Badgers lose lead, fall to St. Cloud State

The No. 14 University of Wisconsin men's hockey team gave up three goals in the third period, relinquishing a 2-1 lead and ultimately falling, 4-2, to No. 8 St. Cloud State during the first game of the teams' final WCHA regular-season series in Madison.
Joseph LaBate opened the scoring with a power-play goal 14 minutes into the game, giving the Badgers (16-12-7, 12-8-7) a lead they would hold the rest of the period.
St. Cloud State (21-13-1, 18--8-1) equalized things 10 minutes into the second period, but Tyler Barnes regained the lead for Wisconsin three minutes later. John Ramage and Nic Kerdiles assisted on both of the Badgers' scores.
It didn't take long for St. Cloud State to pull even yet again, doing so a minute into the final period off Jonny Brodzinski's second goal of the night. The score was deadlocked at two for the next 15 minutes, but Nick Jensen slotted home the game winner with only 3:35 left in the game. St. Cloud added an empty-netter with less than a minute remaining, ending all hopes of a Badgers comeback.
Wisconsin outshot St. Cloud State, 28-25, on the night but fell to 0-6-1 in its last seven meetings with the Huskies.
