Badgers hockey edges Rochester IT

MADISON -- Freshman Jake McCabe lit the lamp with a power-play goal to hand the host Wisconsin men a hard-fought, 2-1 triumph over Rochester Institute of Technology Saturday.
MCCabe scored the game-winner at 3:20 of the third period, recording his second career goal. The win upped Wisconsin's overall record to 9-9-2.
Badgers sophomore Mark Zengerle collected two assists, extending his scoring streak to 19 games, two behind the UW record held by current head coach Mike Eaves.
Additionally, Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel snuffed out 21 of 22 shots fired his way, improving his personal record to 6-3-2 on the year.
RIT dropped to 10-8-2 with its loss.
