Badgers hockey blanked by Denver

MADISON -- Tenth-ranked Denver blanked the Wisconsin Badgers men Friday night, 3-0, in WCHA hockey action.
The Pioneers got a goal from Luke Salazar midway through the second period to take a 1-0 lead, and the visitors never looked back en route to their shutout victory.
Jason Zucker and Nick Shore (empty net) also added goals for Denver (18-9-4, 13-6-4 WCHA), and goalie Sam Brittain recorded 28 saves.
Wisconsin (12-15-2, 7-14-2 WCHA) rattled off 28 total shots on the night, but the onslaught nevertheless proved fruitless. Joel Rumpel recorded 22 saves in a losing effort.
