Badgers battle to 4-4 tie with Ohio State

Every time that Ohio State scored the University of Wisconsin was there to answer.
The Badgers overcame a pair of two-goal deficits, before outshooting OSU in overtime to force a 4-4 tie with the Buckeyes on Saturday night at Kohl Center.
Kevin Miller and Freddy Gerard scored in the last 10 minutes of the first period to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead, but Ryan Wagner was there to kick off the comeback with less than a minute remaining in the first.
Wagner scored to make it 2-1 with time winding down, before Adam Rockwood opened the second period with a goal to tie things up at 2-2.
OSU's Tyler Lundey scored his second of the weekend early in the second period, before Nick Schilkey made it 4-2 just a few minutes later.
But Luke Kunin responded for the Badgers once again with just over 10 seconds left to play in the second stanza.
Grant Besse scored the final goal of the game early in the third period to make it 4-4 and send the game to overtime.
But while the Badgers peppered Ohio State goaltender Christian Frey in the extra session, outshooting the Buckeyes 5-0 in overtime, it wasn't enough to break the tie.
Next up for the Badgers is a two-game road series against Big Ten rival Penn State, as UW heads east to face the Nittany Lions next weekend.
