B2G kicks off 15th Annual Elite Camp with media training session

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. --There's a saying: "Ability plus likability equals marketability."
That was the overwhelming message to some of the top high school football players in the country Saturday night as B2G kicked off its Elite Camp with a media training session dubbed "America's Next Star Athlete."
A myriad of topics were discussed relating to professional athletes including Richard Sherman's now infamous postgame interview following the NFC Championship game earlier this season.
How character issues could affect your off the field success was also discussed.
Players were put through a number of scenarios where they were asked questions similar to what they would face as college athletes.
After answering in front of their peers inside the Preus-Brandt Forum on the campus of Cal Lutheran University, they received a critique from a panel of media members.

The critiques ranged from the proper answer for certain types of questions to how the media would react to certain answers.
"It was just great to see the reporters to come out here to tell is information that they normally wouldn't tell," said Serra linebacker John Houston, who was one of the players who went through one of the various question answering scenarios.
The 15th Annual B2G Elite Camp will continue through Tuesday. Players will hit the field for two-a-day workouts Sunday and Monday. The camp wraps up with the 'A' Game Tuesday.
Eighty five of the top players from around the country have arrived at Cal Lutheran for the camp for three days and three nights replicating life as a Division I athlete.
While the likability and marketability factors could eventually workout, there's no questioning the ability of those in attendance.
