Striker Josh Adams ended an eight-month absence from the Australia team with two goals in a 3-0 win over New Zealand in an international football friendly on Sunday.
Adams, who missed January's Asian Cup with a serious injury, scored in the ninth and 59th minutes of a match played in torrential rain. James Troisi also scored for the Socceroos with a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time.
Australia was without regulars Lucas Neill, Tim Cahill, Harry Kewell and Mark Schwarzer but was still too strong for New Zealand, which was also beaten 3-0 by Mexico at Dever on Thursday.
