At the Top: 'Bama Softball Earns #1 National Seed

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama softball team was awarded the No. 1 national seed and the top seed in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional on Sunday night. The Crimson Tide was awarded its berth into the NCAA tournament at its selection show Sunday night at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide (48-9) will open regional play on Friday, May 21, at the Alabama Softball Complex against Alcorn State (18-19). The opening game of the regional will feature UAB (36-20) and Lipscomb (48-11). Alabama claimed the Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament title in the same season for the first time in program history.
