ASU to induct Allen, Woodson into Ring of Honor

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona State University Alumni Association on Friday announced it will induct former Sun Devils Eric Allen and Darren Woodson into the ASU Ring of Honor this season.
"Our football program has a storied legacy, and Eric and Darren played a big part in shaping it," vice president for university athletics Ray Anderson said in a release. "I was fortunate to get to know both of them during my time with the National Football League and it is humbling to have the opportunity to welcome these giants of the game back to Tempe."
Woodson (1989-1991) and Allen (1983-87), both defensive backs in their time at ASU, will be inducted at the annual Legends Luncheon on Oct. 31 and presented with rings during halftime of ASU's homecoming game against Utah the next day.
"An important aspect of the Sun Devil Brotherhood is respecting those who came before you and it would be hard to find two better role models in our program's history than Eric and Darren," ASU coach Todd Graham said. "This pair embodies greatness, both at the collegiate and professional levels, as well as off the field."
Allen was part of ASU's only Rose Bowl-winning team in 1986 and went on to a 14-year NFL career. Woodson was a captain at ASU in 1991 and went on to play in five Pro Bowls in the NFL.
