ASU 3rd, Arizona tied for 4th at NCAA women's golf

TULSA, Okla. -- Arizona State is in third place, five shots behind leader Oklahoma, after Wednesday's second round of the NCAA Women's Golf Championship at Tulsa Country Club.
Arizona is also in the title chase, another four shots back and tied for fourth place.
Oklahoma, led by freshman Alexandra Kaui, is at 15-over par 575 for two rounds, three shots better than Duke. ASU is another two shots back at 580, with Arizona tied with defending champion Southern California and UCLA at 584.
Kaui is leading the individual race at 5-under 135 after a round of 3-under 67 on Wednesday. She holds a three-shot lead on Michigan State's Allyssa Ferrell and Stanford's Lauren Kim.
Justine Lee led ASU's charge on Wednesday with a 2-under 68 -- a 14-shot improvement on her opening round. Noemi Jimenez followed her opening-round 69 with a 76 and is the best-placed Sun Devil on the leaderboard at 145 -- tied for 24th.
"Yesterday, the wind was very strong and I got a little tentative on the course, but today I was determined not to leave anything short and just go for it," Lee said.
Emilie Alonso, Laura Blanco and Monica Vaughn all had rounds of 73 for ASU.
Arizona moved up in the standings on the strength of a 3-under 67 by Manon Gidali and 1-under 69 by Lindsey Weaver. Gidali is tied for fifth overall at 140, and Weaver tied for eighth at 141.
