“The second half we had in this game — we have to have that — that’s what we are looking for,” Arizona head coach Niya Butts said. “At the end of the day, we ended up with five players in double figures. We have to have that balanced attack. It was a team effort throughout.”
Arizona trailed 34-17 at halftime after making only 8 of 24 shots from the field and missing all eight of its attempts from 3-point range.
The Wildcats chipped away in the second half and finally took the lead with 2:39 to play. They finished the game with a 17-4 run.
“This was all about battling back, this was all about toughness,” Butts said. “I think we showed that in the second half.”
The Wildcats will travel to Long Beach, Calif. for their fourth-consecutive road game to take on Long Beach State on Sunday, Dec. 2.
