TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Utah in double overtime Friday at Murphey Field at Mulcahy Stadium.

Arizona (7-7-4) held Utah (9-3-6) scoreless for 102 minutes until freshman Taylor Slattery tallied the game-winning goal in the first two minutes of the final overtime period.

The Wildcats outshot the Utes 19-13, with senior Jazmin Ponce leading the team with eight shots, including three on goal. Lexe Selman and Ana-Maria Montoya finished with three shots apiece.

Ashton Hall led Utah in shots with three to contribute to her team's 13-shot total.

“Both teams battled for long stretches of the game,” Arizona coach Tony Amato said. “Unfortunately, they took their chance when they had it in extra time, and that was the difference in the game. I thought it would come down to execution in the final third period, and that’s exactly what happened.”

In net, goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman recorded six saves for the Wildcats while Lindsey Luke finished with eight saves for the Utes.
