TUCSON, Ariz. -- Former Ohio University head coach Brian Knorr has joined Rich Rodriguez's staff at Arizona as special teams coordinator.

Knorr, who had an 11-35 record at Ohio from 2001 to 2004, spent last season as a quality control assistant at Ohio State. That followed two seasons as defensive coordinator at Indiana.

Knorr, 53, was a quarterback, three-year letterman and team captain at Air Force and spent five years on active duty before starting his coaching career.

His 25-year coaching career also includes two stints at his alma mater and six seasons at Wake Forest. He is the first Air Force Academy graduate to be a head coach at the Division I level.
