AP editors honor Engel for columns

FOXSports columnist Jen Floyd Engel has taken first place for column writing in the largest circulation division of the 2012 Associated Press Sports Editors writing contest.
Ten finalists for each writing category were announced in February, and the top five plus five honorable mentions were revealed today. The APSE contest annually recognizes the best sports writing and reporting throughout the United States and Canada.
Engel, who joined FOX Sports from the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram in September 2011, was joined in the top five by Mitch Albom of the Detroit Free Press, Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times and Scott Miller of CBSSports.com.
