KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The Los Angeles Angels have activated right-hander Kelvin Jepsen from the 15-day disabled list, and they designated right-hander Billy Buckner for assignment a day after he earned his first big league victory since 2009.

The Angels made the move Sunday before playing the Kansas City Royals.

Buckner pitched five innings of two-hit ball in a 7-0 win over the Royals on Saturday. He hadn't pitched in the majors since 2010.

Jensen missed 38 games with a right shoulder strain. He was 0-1 with a 9.82 ERA in six relief appearances before the injury.
