Andy Dalton says he was wrong to rip J.J. Watt over 'Red Ryder BB Gun' line

After taking a beating for ripping J.J. Watt over a light-hearted joke, Andy Dalton has done a mea culpa.

The Cincinnati Bengals quarterback questioned Watt's integrity after the defensive lineman said that the Houston Texans wanted to "make the Red Rifle look like a Red Ryder BB Gun," following Houston's 10-6 win over Cincinnati on Monday night.

"What I did wrong was I responded to what somebody said," Dalton explained on Wednesday. "I never heard his interview, so I don't know the context in which it was said, I don't know what was said before, I don't know what he said after. On my part, I shouldn't have reacted without hearing what he said . . . But I've got no ill will versus J.J."

And so ends one of the most meaningless feuds of the NFL season.
