American named CEO of Commonwealth Federation

LONDON (AP) American sports administrator David Grevemberg will serve as the next chief executive of the Commonwealth Games Federation.
The 41-year-old Grevemberg will succeed Mike Hooper, the New Zealander who is stepping down after this summer's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Grevemberg is the current chief executive of the Glasgow organizing committee.
He says ''it will be an honor and privilege to lead the Commonwealth sports movement on the next stage of its journey.''

Grevemberg, a former wrestler and sports coach, was born in New Orleans. He previously worked as an executive director at the International Paralympic Committee.
