The Tigers will be well-represented in this month's All-Star Game.

Prince Fielder, Justin Verlander and Miguel Cabrera will all be in Kansas City for the All-Star Game July 10.

Fielder will make his fourth All-Star appearance and first representing the American League. He beat out the Chicago White Sox's Paul Konerko in fan voting to start at first base.

Verlander will be making his fifth All-Star appearance and unlike last year, would be allowed to pitch. He could not last year because he started the day before the All-Star break.

Cabrera is a seven-time All-Star. It will be his third as a Tiger.

The Texas Rangers' Adrian Beltre beat out Cabrera for the starting spot at third base, but Rangers manager Ron Washington named Cabrera as a reserve.

Fielder and Beltre will be joined in the starting lineup by Texas Rangers catcher Mike Napoli, New York Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, Yankees outfielder and former Tiger Curtis Granderson, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista and Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz.

The rest of the American League pitchers are the Rangers' Matt Harrison, Rangers closer Joe Nathan, the Seattle Mariners' Felix Hernandez, Oakland A's closer Ryan Cook, the Yankees' CC Sabathia (won't play due to injury), the Los Angeles Angels' C.J. Wilson, Angels Jered Weaver, the Baltimore Orioles' Jim Johnson, the White Sox's Chris Sale, Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez, Tampa Bay Rays closer and former Tiger Fernando Rodney, the Rays' David Price.

Washington selected the following as reserves: Orioles outfielder Adam Jones, Orioles catcher Matt Wieters, White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn, White Sox's Konerko, Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, Kansas City Royals designated hitter Billy Butler, Angels outfielder Mike Trout, Angels outfielder Mark Trumbo, Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer, Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus and Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Notably absent from that list for Tigers fans is center fielder Austin Jackson, who is batting .326 with eight home runs, 34 RBIs and an OPS of .945. Trout is batting .336 with eight home runs, 32 RBIs and a .917 OPS. Trumbo is batting .313 with 19 home runs, 53 RBIs and a .977 OPS.

It's not too shocking that Washington would take his own players, Andrus and Kinsler.

For the National League, the starters are San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto, Atlanta Braves second baseman Dan Uggla, Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval, St. Louis Cardinals shortstop Rafael Furcal, Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp and Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran.

The pitching staff for the National League is the Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw, the Braves' Craig Kimbrel, the Reds' Aroldis Chapman, the Nationals' Gio Gonzalez, the Nationals' Stephen Strasburg, the Philadelphia Phillies Cole Hamels, the Phillies' Jonathan Papelbon, the Arizona Diamondbacks' Wade Miley, the New York Mets' R. A. Dickey, the Cardinals' Lance Lynn, the Pittsburgh Pirates' Joel Hanrahan, the San Diego Padres' Huston Street, the Giants' Matt Cain.

The National League reserves, as selected by former Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa, are Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro, the Cubs' Bryan LaHair, the Reds' Jay Bruce, the Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez, the Houston Astros' Jose Altuve, the Miami Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton, the Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun, the Mets' David Wright, the Phillies' Carlos Ruiz, the Pirates' Andrew McCutchen, the Cardinals' Yadier Molina and the Nationals' Ian Desmond.

In the Final Vote, the choices for the American League are: Royals closer Jonathan Broxton, Rangers starter Yu Darvish, Angels reliever Ernesto Frieri, Orioles starter Jason Hammel and White Sox starter Jake Peavy.

In the National League, the choices are Braves outfielder Michael Bourn, Cardinals infielder David Freese, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, Diamondbacks infielder Aaron Hill and Braves infielder Chipper Jones.
