Adidas rebuffs homophobic hate for controversial Valentine's Day photo

Adidas made a bold statement for Valentine's Day, posting this photo to their social media accounts along with the Beatles lyric "The love you take is equal to the love you make."
The love you take is equal to the love you make.

However, some people who interpreted the photo as supporting same-sex relationships criticized Adidas for politicizing the holiday. And some people just got downright nasty with homophobic comments.
Whether it was meant as an inspiring message or just a publicity stunt, Adidas made one thing clear: It wasn't apologizing.
Adidas rebuffed the criticism with responses like "No, this day is for LOVE. Happy Valentine's Day" and "We are #heretocreate love."
One other thing is clear: Adidas won't be signing Manny Pacquiao, after Nike terminated its contract with him following the boxing star's comment that gays are "worse than animals."
