NEW ORLEANS -- Rick Adelman has missed the Minnesota Timberwolves' past two games in order to be with his wife, Mary Kay, who is in the hospital.
Adelman has been away from the team since Monday and last coached Saturday night against Portland. His status remains day-to-day; a return date has not yet been announced, and the team first released the reason for his absence Thursday morning.
Assistant coach Terry Porter will continue to lead the Timberwolves in Adelman's absence. He has coached them to a 1-1 record, with a win over Atlanta and a loss in Oklahoma City. The team next plays in New Orleans on Friday and will take a 16-16 record into that game.
