3 Sun Devils earn Pac-12 soccer distinction

TEMPE, Ariz. - Three Arizona State women’s soccer players were recognized by the Pac-12 on Wednesday as the conference announced its annual awards for the 2012 season as voted on by the league’s head coaches. Senior midfielder Taylor McCarter and junior forward Devin Marshall were named to the All-Pac-12 second team and freshman forward Cali Farquharson was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention and to the All-Freshman team.
A two-time team MVP, McCarter has started 79 consecutive games since starting her career at ASU. Marshall and Farquharson tied for the team lead in goals with nine. Farquharson, a freshman from Shadow Mountain High School, also had four assists to lead the Sun Devils in scoring.
All three players will be in action on Friday at 7 p.m. when the Sun Devils host Baylor in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.
