FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket, in partnership with the CIF-Southern Section, announced on Wednesday the "Ford CIF Southern Section Game of the Week" selections for the 2013 football season.
Kicking-off the 17th season of delivering high school football to Southern California, Santiago Corona hosts Hart on Friday, Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m. on FOX Sports West. John Jackson returns to the booth alongside play-by-play announcer Mark Rogondino. This marks Jackson's 17th season as "Game of the Week" analyst, while Rogondino joins the crew with over 10 year experience in the booth.
Offering reports and updates from the sidelines this season, Angels Weekly Host, Alex Curry, joins FOXSportsWest.com columnist, Rahshaun Haylock. Prior to select game telecasts, the "High School Spotlight" pregame show will begin at 7 p.m. offering fans a preview of the night’s match-ups with analysis, features, interviews and more. Teaming up for their second year in the Prep Zone studios, host Kevin Barnett will join FOX Sports Next’s Director of Scouting Scott Kennedy.
Each game telecast will conclude with post-game coverage from site followed by the return of the "High School Spotlight Scoreboard" show. Hosted by Barnett with analysis from Kennedy, the live program will run viewers through the best action from across the Southland including final scores, analysis and more.
New to the lineup this fall, FOX Sports 1 will televise two CIF-SS football games. Calling the action from site are MLB on FOX play-by-play announcer Daron Sutton and analyst Ben Leber, a former NFL linebacker who also is part of FOX College Football on FOX College Sports (FCS). Both games will re-air on FOX Sports West and Prime Ticket throughout the week.
And prior to the season kick-off, a special preseason edition of "High School Spotlight" airs at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 on Prime Ticket. In this half-hour show, Barnett and Kennedy reveal the CIF-SS Top 10 and look at teams and players to watch, while Haylock reports on the Gardena Serra Cavaliers and their transformation into a perennial powerhouse. Additionally, the Prime Ticket cameras spent a week at Monrovia High School for a behind the scenes look at the football team's first practices of the year.
