10 things with Redondo Union's Leland Green

It wouldn't be uncommon to attend a Redondo Union game and see Leland Green diving on the floor for loose balls. It's all a part of the way he energizes his team and creates havoc for the opposition.
"(Oklahoma City Thunder guard) Russell Westbrook dove on the floor," Redondo Union head coach Reggie Morris Jr. said naming player he coached during their high school days. "(Former UCONN guard) Donnell Beverly dove on the floor. (San Diego State guard) Aqeel Quinn dove on the floor. That's who we are. Everybody's got to give an honest day's effort."
Green is expected to be added to the list of guards Morris Jr. has coached that have gone on to play at the next level. It's a list that seems to be getting increasingly longer as the seasons past. The junior guard is the only player averaging double figures for the Seahawks this season, scoring just over 16 points per game. He also leads Redondo Union âa top-10 team in the state âin rebounds and steals. Earlier this season, Green was named co-MVP of the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas while leading the Seahawks to a tournament title. He currently holds offers from Arizona State, UNLV, and University of San Francisco.
