Highly accurate, Hart quarterback Brady White completed 66.7 percent of his passes as a sophomore last season to go along with 23 touchdowns and just seven interceptions.
He has one of the most dynamic wideouts in the state to throw to in fellow junior Trent Irwin.
White will lead Hart onto the field in Friday's season opener at Corona Santiago – a game that will be shown on FOX Sports West at 8:30 p.m.
In White's first year as a starter, Hart advanced to the quarterfinals of the Northern Division losing to eventual champion, Palos Verdes. This year, with White back in the fold after packing on pounds in the offseason, a lot more is expected out of Hart.
Sure, touchdown passes from him on Friday nights are a regular occurrence but here are 10 things you may not know about the junior quarterback:
The ultimate driving machine
There were times last season where White had the Hart offense running like a well-oiled machine. It's in his makeup. After all, growing up, BMW has been his nickname.
"Those are my initials so I would be called that," White said. "If I did something good (at practice, coaches were) like 'Hey, great job BMW!'"
Footballer
Football has always been the sport of choice for White, who began playing when he was five-years-old.
"I loved it ever since,” he said.
But, he didn't always find himself under center.
"When I was really little, my first year I was (on the offensive) line because I didn't know what I was doing but after that year, I played quarterback and safety every year," White said.
Hobbies
The Hart quarterback is the outdoors type. If he's not playing football, he'd like to be doing something outside like wakeboarding at the lake or hanging out at the beach with friends.
However, he tries to keep a good mix.
He's perfectly OK with being at home playing video games and watching TV.
"I like to be active but I also like to have my relaxing time and my time to chill,” he said. "I like to get a little of both in there."
Late-night snack
White is open to a smorgasbord of items when it comes to a late night snack. He can't go wrong with the old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich but that doesn't discount pizza, ice cream, and the ever important sunflower seeds.
"Cracked pepper or chili lime,” White said of his seeds of choice.
Favorite movie
When it comes to football films, "Rudy" and "Remember the Titans" are at the top of the list for White. Aside from those, it's the Will Ferrell comedy "Step Brothers".
"That's a great one,” he said. "Classic."
Who'd play him in a movie?
Starring as Brady White in the "Brady White Movie" would be Liam Hemsworth of "The Hunger Games" fame.
"He kind of looks like me," White said. "Or Zac Efron."
Biggest fear
"Not going to heaven,"” White said.
No. 2
Throughout his football career, White has always worn jersey No. 7 but when he got to Hart, that number was off limits. Jim and Tom Bonds wore the No. 7 and it's one of five numbers retired by the football program.
After searching, he settled on No. 2.
"I like the single digits," White said. "(No.) 2, kind of, caught my eye and I liked it."
Biggest dream outside of football
If White could accomplish anything outside of football, it wouldn't be hitting a game-winning 3-pointer in the NBA Finals, or a walk-off home run in Game 7 of the World Series, he'd chose to be a family man.
"I would probably say to be successful in life," White said. "To have a family that I'm well involved in and to provide for that family in a good way and support them and just to be a great dad and husband and a good man of God and please Him and live my life for Him.
"That's my main goal in life."
Biggest rival
White looks at every Foothill League opponent as his rival. As for the Hart student body, the games against Valencia and Canyon are the ones they get up for the most.
"(It) tends to be pretty crowded games," White said. "It's a good atmosphere to play in. Both fans are nutty, so it's fun."
