WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne reveals that she's gay

Chicago Sky star and reigning WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne has told Vogue magazine that she's gay, according to OutSports.com.
In the article, which has yet to be published online, Delle Donne revealed that she is engaged to Amanda Clifton. The 26-year-old member of the U.S. women's basketball team and Clifton have shared photos of themselves together on Instgram.
"It was just one of those articles where they came into my home, spent a couple days with me, and [fiancee] Amanda [Clifton] is a huge part of my life," Delle Donne told reporters in Rio, via ESPN. "So to leave her out wouldn't have made any sense. It's not a coming out article or anything. I've been with her for a very long time now, and people who are close to me know that, and that's that."
Delle Donne joins Brittney Griner as two of the highest-profile WNBA players to come out. Delle Donne was selected second overall by the Sky in 2013. She was Rookie of the Year in 2013 and last season was named the league's most valuable player.
"As the future keeps moving on, I don't plan on having our relationship out in the public and all this media on it," Delle Donne said, "but obviously there's excitement right now because people see it for the first time."
