What time does the Olympic Opening Ceremony start?

Published Aug. 5, 2016 8:11 a.m. ET

It's almost time for the Olympic cauldron to be lit in Rio de Janeiro. So what time should you tune in?

You can also stream the Opening Ceremony online at NBCOlympics.com or via the NBC Sports app on mobile devices, but you will need to enter your cable or satellite provider information in order to watch the full event.

As it has done for previous Olympic Games, NBC will not be broadcasting the Opening Ceremony live in the United States. The Ceremony itself will begin in Rio de Janeiro at 7:00 p.m. ET, but NBC is delaying the start of its coverage an hour in order to "curate" the broadcast.

If you live happen to live near Canada, you can watch the Opening Ceremony live on CBC.
