PARK CITY, UTAH (AP) The U.S. Ski Team says women's speed coach Stefan Abplanalp (Ahb-plahn-allp) is leaving the team after one season in charge.

Alpine director Patrick Riml said in a statement Wednesday that he and Abplanalp came to the conclusion ''that our vision and philosophy is different.'' Riml added that Abplanalp was a ''big part of bringing the women's speed team back to strength.''

The speed team had a dozen podium finishes in 2014-15. Lindsey Vonn led the way with eight World Cup wins, along with capturing a bronze medal in the super-G at the world championships in Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Abplanalp replaced Chip White last season. Before that, Abplanalp spent time with the Norwegian women's program and the Swiss squad.
