SOCHI, Russia (AP) The head of the International Olympic Committee might push the teleprompter operators to the last minute at the Sochi Games.
After taking more than 30 minutes of questions from reporters Sunday, IOC President Thomas Bach said as things wrapped up that he was surprised he wasn't asked about his impending speech at the closing ceremony.
''Can you give me some ideas, maybe?'' Bach asked.
It seemed to be playful, but an awkward silence with scores of reporters gave a slight hint that, perhaps, he actually wanted to engage on the subject.
''If you don't want to know, I'm happy,'' he said.
He then said he planned to use his speech to speak about the feedback he's heard from athletes, national organizing committees, judges, broadcasters and others.
But expect some tinkering.
''My office is always very nervous about my last-minute changes and rewriting of speeches,'' he said.
