Simone Biles tangoes to top marks in her 'Dancing With the Stars' debut

"Dancing With the Stars" began its 24th(!) season on Monday night with a fresh new crop of celebrities and their pro dance partners.

Chief among them was four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, who stepped into the "DWTS" ballroom the season after her Rio Summer Games gymnastics teammate Laurie Hernandez won the coveted Mirrorball trophy.

But the pressure of the Glitterdome was no match for one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. The 20-year-old Biles came out like a pro for her tango with partner Sasha Farber, which earned her a 32 out of 40 from the judges and landed her atop the leader board.

Biles is one of a number of athletes — including former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan, NFL running back Rashad Jennings, bull rider Bonner Bolton and the Cubs' David Ross — sparkling it up on the 24th season of the reality TV juggernaut.
