Ryan Lochte gets clowned on 'special message' board at Rio airport

Ryan Lochte had an interesting Olympic experience in Rio. He experienced some great highs (such as winning a gold medal) and some embarrassing lows (such as fabricating a story about getting robbed at gunpoint and sparking an international incident). Unfortunately for the American swimmer, the latter has far outweighed the former.

It will likely be a long, long time before the general public forgets the spectacle Lochte drunkenly created one night out in Brazil. While he certainly shamed himself, others believe that he also shamed the United States and the American people in the process.

And since he's pretty bad at apologizing (at least sincerely), others have taken the liberty of doing it for him. Just check the "special message" board at the Rio airport.

"Sorry about Ryan Lochte" is a special message indeed.

Now that the Olympics have officially concluded, it is expected that the United States Olympic Committee -- which also seems very sorry about Ryan Lochte -- will levy a significant punishment on the 32-year-old swimmer soon.
