Another women's race could be added to the Olympic rowing program under proposals by the sport's governing body.

With FISA hoping to encourage more women to participate in rowing, delegates will discuss whether to introduce the women's lightweight single sculls to the Olympics. There are currently six women's events in an Olympic program compared to eight for the men.

FISA will vote on the proposal at its extraordinary congress on Sunday. If accepted, the change to the program would be only possible with the approval of the International Olympic Committee.

Another proposal is the reintroduction of the women's four event in the world championships.
