CHAMONIX, France (AP) Alexis Pinturault of France led after the slalom section of an Alpine combined race on Friday, with his rival for the combined title Kjetil Jansrud of Norway placing ninth ahead of the downhill run.
Jansrud and Pinturault are tied on points after two races - having won one race each and finished 13th in the other.
The slalom was initially scheduled for the afternoon, but because of poor visibility the runs were reversed.
Pinturault clocked 42.55 seconds as French skiers claimed the top three places - with Thomas Mermillod Blondin finishing ahead of Victor Muffat-Jeandet - boosting hopes of another podium sweep following the French 1-2-3 in Kitzbuehel, Austria, last month.
