Tamira Paszek has been granted a place on Austria's Olympic tennis team following a successful appeal of her eligibility.
Paszek was originally ruled ineligible by the International Tennis Federation's Olympic committee, which said she had not sufficiently made herself available for Fed Cup events.
In an appeal, Tennis Austria provided additional documentation regarding Paszek's availability, the ITF said Friday.
The No. 37-ranked Paszek, who will compete in the Olympics for the first time, replaces Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland in the 64-player field. Bacsinsky decided not to compete at the Games.

Paszek reached the quarterfinals at Wimbledon this week before losing to Victoria Azarenka.
