IOC President Thomas Bach has been reported backing the efforts of Russian officials to make the 2014 Sochi Games environmentally friendly.
Bach's comments come a day after the Associated Press published an investigation detailing how Sochi organizers are breaking their "Zero Waste" pledge for the Olympics.
Bach said in comments reported by the R-Sport news agency on Thursday that the IOC is aware of criticism of Sochi's green credentials, but insisted that the Russian organizers "have listened and paid attention to our advice."
Bach was speaking at an environmental conference in Sochi.
