The Duchess of Cambridge, showed off her field hockey skills Thursday, and Kate scored a goal in front of Great Britain's women's team at the Olympic Park in London.
A former captain of the field hockey team at her school Marlborough College, Kate was eager to have a go and changed into sneakers before taking to the field in Stratford, East London.
The 30-year-old — an ambassador for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics — said she was nervous after she was handed a stick. But she held it together to score a goal in front of the cameras.
She took three shots at goal from the left of the pitch, before moving into the center and scoring first time.
"I was really looking forward to coming here, but now I am here and have discovered I have to play, I am not feeling so confident," the princess told the assembled Olympians. "This is going to be so embarrassing. My brain thinks I can do all these wonderful things, but my body just doesn't play ball."
Kate was wearing tight coral-colored jeans, blue heels and a blazer but changed into a Team GB sweatshirt and Adidas sneakers on the blue field.
She added, "The color of the (field) is, well, eye-catching. My trousers really clash."
The Duchess was joined by Great Britain team captains Kate Walsh and Barry Middleton and had specifically asked to join the field hockey team because of her love of the sport.
She was handed a white team top with "Cambridge 1" on the back and a polo-style shirt for her husband Prince William.
After the visit, she joined the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall at an art gallery in south London, where she met youngsters involved in The Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts.
