Condron leaving USOC after 28 years

U.S. Olympic Committee director of media services Bob Condron will retire in January after 28 years with the organization.

Condron, one of the few long-time employees at an organization known for its turnover, has worked at 15 Olympics and been part of the U.S. Olympic delegation at every games since 1984 in Los Angeles. His current job is directing the Olympics accreditation process for U.S. media and he serves on the IOC Press Commission, a committee that helps organize media operations at the Olympics.

He is one of only two USOC staff members serving on an International Olympic Committee commission.

Before coming to the USOC in 1984, Condron was sports information director at SMU. He is a Hall of Fame member of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
