Britain's Elizabeth Yarnold wins skeleton World Cup event

KOENIGSSEE, Germany (AP) Elizabeth Yarnold of Britain put together the fastest times in both runs to win a skeleton World Cup event on Friday.

Yarnold clocked a combined time of one minute, 44.24 seconds for her second win of the season. Anja Huber-Selbach of Germany was .71 seconds behind in her final race on her home track. The German is retiring at the end of the season. It was her first podium finish of the season as she struggled to overcome a back injury.

Maria Orlova of Russia finished third, .86 seconds behind the winner.

Tina Hermann of Germany placed sixth to retain the overall lead halfway through the season.
