Brazil, US sign agreement for World Cup, Olympics

Brazil and the United States have established a working relationship for the organization of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games.
An agreement signed by the two nations says that the United States will share its know-how in organizing the two events. The United States hosted the World Cup in 1994 and the Olympic Games in 2000.
Officials from both countries signed the accord Saturday during President Barack Obama's visit to Brazil.
The declaration says that the two countries will ''focus on planning and strategic development, infrastructure, security, tourism, and commercial enterprise.''
It also says that the United States will send missions to the 12 Brazilian cities that will host World Cup games and to Rio de Janeiro for the Olympic Games.
