Angola earned its first Olympic bid in women's basketball by winning the African championship.

The Angola women beat defending champion Senegal in the championship game 62-54 on Sunday, after upsetting host Mali in the semifinals.

The Angolans joined host Great Britain, the United States, China, Australia, Brazil and Russia in the London Olympics next summer.

There are still five spots left which will be determined by a final qualifying tournament from June 25-July 1.
