Graeme Murray Walker turns 92 years old on Oct. 10, 2014, making him exactly 51 years older than NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

In fact, using Murray’s math, we can also conclude that this time five years ago, Murray was also exactly 51 years older than Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The famed Formula One commentator began calling motor races as far back as 1948, retiring full-time in 2001 at the age of 77.

During that time, he helped bring the excitement of Formula One all the way from the track to peoples’ living rooms simply with his voice.

However, we can’t deny, he also got it wrong a few times too …

Here are some of our favorite “Murrayisms:”

- “And there’s a dry line appearing in the tunnel.”

- “There’s nothing wrong with the car except it is on fire.”

- “With half the race gone, there is half the race still to go.”

A yellow 'Ferrari' leading a red ... hang on a second ...

- “And there are a lot of people who are saying that the yellow, intimidating color of that Ferrari …”

- “Alboreto into the pits and I’m going to stop the start-watch.”

- “He’s gone from seventh to sixth to fourth to fifth and now to third.”

- “Do my eyes deceive me, or is Senna’s Lotus sounding rough?”

- “We’re watching Ralf Schumacher, son of World Champion Michael Schumacher.”

- “And he knows exactly where Ayrton Senna is because he can see him in his earphones.”

- “The lead car is unique, except for the one behind it which is identical.”

- “Barrichello is about to drive in his fourth race for Ferrari. He is following the great Ayrton Senna who never drove for Ferrari.”

- “And all I can tell you is that David Coulthard keeps accelerating and closes up to David Coulthard.”

- “The four cars in the lead are both on a two-stop strategy.”

If you hold the word 'F1' up next to a mirror, you should see the word 'if.'

- “‘If’ is a very long word in Formula One; in fact, ‘if’ is ‘F1’ spelled backwards.”

- “This is an interesting circuit because it has inclines. And not just up, but down as well.”

- “As you look at the first four, the significant thing is that Alboreto is fifth.”

- “This will be Williams’ first win since the last time a Williams won.”

- “Both McLaren drivers are faster than their equivalents in the McLaren team at the present moment.”

- “Andrea de Cesaris, the man who has won more Grands Prix than anyone else without actually winning one.”

- “And I’ve got to stop, because I’ve got a lump in my throat.”

Happy birthday Murray!
