Truck goes airborne, lands on another car after high-speed police chase

Astonishingly, everyone was OK after a truck landed on an occupied vehicle after a high-speed police chase in Webster Parish, Louisiana on Tuesday, according to KSLA.
The driver, 18-year-old Kevonte Dekorey Austin, was taken into custody following the incident. Austin was an escaped work-release participant, and had been in jail for car theft and a probation violation.
According to KSLA, the events had all started to unfold when a deputy pulled over the truck, a black Toyota Tacoma, for speeding earlier on in the day.
Upon stopping, the driver got out of the vehicle and Austin, who had been the passenger, moved into the driver’s seat and sped off.
As Austin reached speeds of up to 115 mph, police officials set up the road block and spike strips pictured in the video in front of a busy intersection, where there would be a high risk of a dangerous collision.
Austin hits the spike strips and lost control. The truck went head-on into a ditch, which sent it airborne over a fence before hitting a parked Toyota Corolla.
Barbara Harlon was a passenger in the Corolla at the time, but was able to see the truck coming and dodge to the right inside the vehicle. Fortunately, Harlon was able to escape uninjured.
