Supercross: Barcia to miss rest of season due to hand injury

Justin Barcia will miss the rest of the 2016 Monster Energy Supercross season due to a thumb injury.

The 23-year-old Yamaha rider had failed to finish in the top 10 in the opening two rounds of the 2016 season, stating on Instagram that being “in the mix for race wins [is] just not realistic with how bad the pain is” after injuring his thumb one week before the season opener in Anaheim:
