NHRA on FOX garners three Telly Awards

In its first season, NHRA on FOX’s new in-house production group not only set records for viewership and ratings, but also garnered three Telly Awards.
The group received a Silver Telly - the highest ranking honor - for the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals in the television shows and segments in general-live events category. A Bronze Telly Award was also presented to NHRA in Television Shows/Segments in General-Show Opening Segments for the Mopar NHRA Mile-High Nationals opening show. The third award was for an NHRA marketing promotional reel in the Promotional Pieces in Craft-Directing Editing category.
The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 and recognize outstanding TV commercials and programs as well as the finest video and film productions. Over 12,000 entries from five continents were submitted.
“I’m proud of our team for these accomplishments,” said Ken Adelson, vice president, executive producer & chief content officer at NHRA. “In just the first year of our existence and as part of our partnership with FOX Sports, we were able to garner this industry wide recognition.”
“Our responsibility as storytellers is to captivate viewers during the time they are watching the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series,” said Rob Hedrick, director of broadcast operations & supervising producer at NHRA. “We’re very fortunate to be surrounded by gifted storytellers within the series and every single second is full of tremendous drama.”
